Nikki Bella wasn’t just brought in to wave at the crowd during the August 28 episode of WWE SmackDown — she got physical.
During the August 24 tapings for Friday’s show, Bella made her presence felt immediately after Paige’s match against Jacy Jayne. Once the match was over, Nikki came out and attacked Paige, adding another twist to a night that already had plenty going on around the women’s division. Bella didn’t stick around for some long speech afterward either. After dropping Paige, Nikki did a little spin for the crowd and simply walked off.
The appearance had already been listed internally for the show, but exactly what WWE planned to do with Nikki had been kept under wraps. Now we know her SmackDown involvement was much more than a cameo.
Paige was set to face Jacy Jayne on the show, with Jayne picking up the victory before Nikki entered the picture. That means Paige’s night went from a loss straight into getting jumped by a WWE Hall of Famer.
