MJF looks ready to walk back into AEW tonight and immediately throw himself into the middle of the company’s biggest storylines. The former AEW World Champion is expected to return during the Grand Slam Mexico edition of Dynamite from Arena México.
There is a belief backstage that MJF is scheduled to appear on Wednesday night’s show, although AEW has not announced his return or revealed what he will be doing.
MJF has been missing from television since the July 8 edition of Dynamite: Beach Break. He lost the AEW World Championship to Kenny Omega that night and disappeared from programming after the defeat.
The absence has lasted nearly a month, giving MJF plenty of time to regroup after losing the company’s top prize. Now, his return could immediately put him back in the title picture or send him after whoever he believes cost him everything.
AEW already has plenty happening at Grand Slam Mexico, but MJF showing up would instantly become one of the biggest moments of the night. He rarely returns quietly, and there is no reason to believe this time will be any different.
MJF’s return also comes as AEW pushes toward its next major event, giving the company another top name to plug into a major feud. Whether he targets Kenny Omega or chooses a completely different victim, someone could be in for a very bad night.
