The August 24 episode of Monday Night RAW is expected to close with one of the World Heavyweight Championship No. 1 Contender Tournament semifinal matches.
According to TRNBCKL Gold, the current plan has Penta vs. La Parka positioned as the closing match of the show. The match is part of the ongoing tournament to determine the next challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship, giving the bout some major stakes as RAW heads toward Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Penta and La Parka will both be looking to punch their ticket to the tournament final, and if WWE sticks with the current rundown, they’ll be doing it in the final match of the night. This is still based on the early lineup, so things can always change before or even during the show.
RAW is also set to feature Rey Fenix vs. Dragon Lee in the other semifinal match, Stephanie Vaquer vs. Roxanne Perez, and the Oba Femi-Bron Breakker contract signing for Sunday Night’s Main Event.
If the current format holds, WWE is giving Penta and La Parka the spotlight to close out RAW with a tournament match that could have a direct impact on the World Heavyweight Championship picture.
