Ronda Rousey may have slammed the door on a WWE return—for now—but her longtime friend and rival Shayna Baszler isn’t convinced it’s closed for good.

While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Shayna Baszler was asked directly whether Rousey is truly finished with pro wrestling. Without hesitation, Baszler said she doesn’t buy it, making it clear that she believes Rousey will come back one day.

“I never say Ronda’s done — she’s a crazy person. She loves being a mom, and it would take a bit, but come on, CM Punk came back. Ronda Rousey can come back. There’s no such thing as never in pro wrestling.”

This comes after Rousey previously claimed that a return to WWE is not on her radar. She cited her growing family and WWE’s intense travel demands as reasons she’s walking away from the business.

“I just don’t think I could ever be on the road with the company again. I have two girls now, and hopefully we can have some more soon… there’s just no room in my life to be able to maintain that lifestyle and a family at the same time.”

The Baddest Woman on the Planet also revealed that WWE left the door open for her comeback, saying:

“There’s always an open door; if you ever want to come back, let us know.”

But for Baszler, that open door isn’t just symbolic—it’s a real possibility. The two have remained close since Rousey’s 2023 departure, and if anyone knows how Ronda ticks, it’s Shayna.

Whether Ronda Rousey ever decides to return is still unknown, but in pro wrestling, history proves that “never” usually just means “not yet.”
