WWE brought the biggest SummerSlam event they could to Detroit, and that included eight matches fans won’t soon forget. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler’s match might not have stood out as one of the best on the card, but it still meant a lot to the Baddest Woman on the Planet.

WWE creative had some issues with booking the Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler MMA Rules match at SummerSlam. They couldn’t decide on how to let that play out, and fans used the match as bathroom break in Ford Field.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler’s SummerSlam match. It was noted that the match might have been Rousey’s final contest in WWE.

It may be the end, period. So the whole deal was that Ronda, you know this looked to be, ‘it’s my last match and Shayna is the one who got me into this so if I have to go out then I’m losing by submission, because nobody was allowed to beat Ronda by submission, that was the key. So, she did it, with her best friend, and I mean, in theory it’s great for Shayna if they follow up on it, so we’ll see.

It was noted that WWE has dropped the ball with Superstars after big wins before. Ronda Rousey gets a lot of credit for losing to Shayna Baszler, but she was also handpicked. The reality of it is that this wouldn’t have happened if Ronda Rousey didn’t approve of it.

We will have to see what Ronda Rousey does next. She gave WWE a “hard out date” where she had to be gone. Only time will tell if she comes back.
