Scorpio Sky’s AEW future is suddenly a real question. The former TNT Champion and AEW Tag Team Champion has barely been seen on AEW television in recent years, and with his contract believed to be coming up sometime in October, there’s still no new deal in place.
According to Fightful Select, Sky had not signed a new AEW contract as of AEW All Out. That leaves one of the company’s original names sitting in an interesting spot as the clock keeps ticking on his current deal.
Sky hasn’t disappeared completely. He has been working Ring of Honor television lately, picking up wins and staying active under the AEW umbrella. He has also been involved with Top Flight as part of the SkyFlight trio. Still, that’s a long way from where Sky once stood in AEW. He was one of the company’s early featured names, held the TNT Championship and also captured the AEW Tag Team Championship, but his presence on AEW television has been minimal for quite some time.
That’s what makes the timing of his contract situation worth watching. Sky is still wrestling, still connected to AEW and ROH, but as of All Out, he had not put pen to paper on a new deal.
For now, Scorpio Sky is still around — but the bigger question is for how much longer. If October comes and goes without a new contract, one of AEW’s originals could suddenly be looking at a very different next chapter.
