Rob Van Dam has told plenty of insane stories over the years, but this one may be among his most personal.
While appearing on The Dirty Secrets Podcast with Kate Shelor, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that his first sexual experience happened outdoors with a girl who was on her period—and he had no clue until it was over. RVD said they put their clothes on the ground before things got started, only for blood to end up across their jeans.
“When I lost my virginity, it was to a girl who was on her period, and she was all over the place. We were outside, and we put our clothes down to be on top of them. It was all over our jeans and sht.”*
Shelor asked whether the encounter had been planned. RVD said the girl had been pursuing him for a while, and he eventually decided he was ready to go through with it.
“She was always chasing me, and I guess I’d reached a point where I was like, ‘Yeah, I should do that.’ I think I was ready, so when I saw her, I told her, ‘Yeah,’ or something like that.”
The entire encounter happened in the dark, which meant RVD did not realize anything unusual was happening in the moment. Since it was also his first time, he had nothing to compare the experience to.
“It was dark, and I didn’t know anyway. I didn’t know what a vagina was supposed to feel like, so whatever. But afterward, she was like, ‘Oops,’ and I was like, ‘What?’”
Shelor then asked whether it had also been the girl’s first sexual experience. RVD quickly shut that idea down and repeated that she had been after him for some time.
“No, she was chasing me for a while.”
When asked how he feels about period sex now, RVD did not offer a long explanation or act bothered by the subject.
“Indifferent.”
RVD’s first time was not romantic, carefully planned or anything close to what he expected. It happened outside, in the dark, and ended with both of their clothes covered in a mess he did not understand until it was already over.
