RVD isn’t exactly losing sleep over being left off WWE’s recent list of the greatest Money in the Bank winners, but he does think he knows why it happened.

Earlier this week, WWE released a YouTube video ranking its Top 10 Money in the Bank Ladder Match winners, with names like Liv Morgan, Seth Rollins, Big E, IYO SKY and Damian Priest making the cut. RVD’s iconic 2006 cash-in against John Cena at ECW One Night Stand didn’t make the list, despite being widely considered one of the most memorable in Money in the Bank history.

While speaking on the 1 of a Kind podcast, RVD reacted to the ranking and admitted he was surprised he didn’t even crack the top 10.

“Not even the top 10, huh?”

As the conversation turned to his famous WWE Championship win over Cena and the launch of WWE’s ECW brand, RVD questioned how much his victory actually ended up accomplishing before making a joke about why he thinks WWE left him off the list.

“What did it do for ECW? I think the problem is they can’t see me. Must be.”

Later in the discussion, RVD said he understands why WWE rankings like this tend to focus on wrestlers who are currently part of the company’s product. From his perspective, that’s simply how the business works.

“And it makes sense because you’re trying to promote your current product.”

The Whole F’n Show also said he has no problem with WWE treating other companies as competition, adding that he actually thinks that’s good for wrestling as a whole.

“Which I think is healthy.”

RVD never came across as bitter about being left off the list. If anything, he seemed to understand WWE’s reasoning while having a little fun with the situation, even if he still has one of the most memorable Money in the Bank cash-ins of all time.
