The Rock has been involved in a lot of big movies over the years, and that love of acting has helped him take over Hollywood. A lot of fans might like to know what helped The Rock make that big leap into acting, and it had to come from somewhere.

In a video on Instagram, The Rock spoke out the spark that made him want to get into acting. He was happy to answer this question, and he admitted that, “Yes, I always dreamed of being an actor—but along the way, I picked up a lot of other dreams and goals while navigating life’s twists and turns. Some made sense, some didn’t, and some still make me laugh when I think about them.”

He also wished everyone a happy Sunday in the video post in the caption. He answered this question by telling a story about how he first felt the longing to jump in front of a camera.

“The question is whether I always wanted to be an actor, and it’s a cool full circle story. The answer to this is yes. When I was 8-years-old, we were living in Charlotte, North Carolina and Raiders of the Lost Ark had come out and I was super pumped for that movie, like a lot of you were.”

“I’m there in the theater opening weekend, it’s sold out, I’m in the front row. I remember seeing Indiana Jones and saying ‘I wanna do that.’ He was cool with the whip and good with the ladies, he kicked ass. I was an 8-year-old bit by the idea of acting. I had no connection to that in Charlotte, my parents had no connection to Hollywood. Years later, coming up, I wanted to in college, work for the CIA, I had a great criminal law professor and he said ‘Look, you’ve got a look a lot of potential, I know some folks and work for the CIA, but if you want to become an asset go get your law degree.’ I remember telling him, ‘Doc, I understand where you’re going with this because my study habits suck.’

“That dream went away and went bye-bye and then I had a shot to play professional football, I played in the CFL, I never made it to the NFL. So, that didn’t happen, and I went on to be a professional wrestler and the rest is history. I got my first acting role as the Scorpion King on the Mummy Returns. That experience blew me away, and I fell in love with acting. I love acting and story telling. I love actors, our community. So, yeah, long story short, I did want to be an actor since I was 8-years-old, but I went through so many versions of life.”

The Rock has been involved in some amazing films over the years, and his name has brought in a ton of money in the process. He has taken a liking to fame and his Seven Bucks Productions is far from raking in big bucks with blockbusters.

The Rock is also involved in WrestleMania 41’s build, because he was the one who told John Cena to turn on Cody Rhodes. Now, Cena will take on The American Nightmare at the showcase of the immortals. It will be interesting to see how The Rock plays into things.
