Robert Stone has officially revealed the two teams for next week’s high-stakes six-man tag team match on WWE NXT.
The NXT General Manager announced that Tony D’Angelo, Mason Rook and Saquon Shugars will team together against EK Prosper, Cruz Montana and Keanu Carver on the September 8 episode.
“Team number one is going to be Tony D’Angelo, Mason Rook and Saquon Shugars taking on EK Prosper, Cruz Montana and Keanu Carver.”
Carver immediately pushed back on the announcement and told Stone that wasn’t what they had discussed. Stone made it clear the decision had already been made.
“Oh, hell no, Stone. That’s not what we talked about.”
“Those are the teams, Keanu. They’re final.”
The three members of the winning team will face each other in a Triple Threat Match on the September 15 episode of NXT, with the winner becoming the new number one contender to the NXT Championship. That means D’Angelo, Rook and Shugars will have to work together if they want the chance to eventually fight each other, while Prosper, Montana and Carver face the exact same situation on the other side.
