Ricky Starks’ future in professional wrestling has been a hot topic, especially since he hasn’t appeared since the March 30 episode of AEW Collision. Now, he has been removed from AEW’s roster page, strongly suggesting that his time with the company is over.

If one visits the official roster page on the AEW website, one will find that Ricky Starks is missing from the “R” section of the page, essentially making it clear that he is no longer with Tony Khan’s company.

This major development follows a report from Ibou of WrestlePurists, stating that Ricky Starks requested his release from AEW months ago, but Tony Khan refused. Since then, Starks has been waiting for his contract to expire while taking select indie bookings to stay active.

“At the end of the day, things happened to where he’s on the outs with AEW right now,” Ibou explained. “There’s a lot of things, most of it will never be reported. But ultimately there’s a falling out there, and it is what it is. He’s asked for a release, Tony won’t give it to him, and he’s just going to wait out the rest of his deal.”

Reports have already noted that WWE is highly interested in bringing him to NXT, which could be a major turning point in his career. Fans have mostly come to terms with Ricky Starks leaving AEW and are now wondering what’s next for him.

With his removal from AEW’s roster page, many are speculating whether he will join WWE or continue wrestling on the independent scene. After all, he is currently the DEFY World Champion, so we’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for Ricky Starks this year.
