Mr. Elegance’s perfect singles run in TNA is officially over, and Rich Swann is the man who finally handed him his first loss.
A.J.Z., real name Andreas John Ziegler, was brought into TNA Wrestling as Mr. Elegance for the company’s launch on AMC. Since arriving, he had gone 7-0 in singles competition, including a win over then-TNA Knockouts World Champion Léi Yǐng Lee. That streak came to an end on the August 20 episode of Thursday Night iMPACT when Mr. Elegance went one-on-one with Swann.
The Elegance Brand tried to get involved during the match, but it wasn’t enough to save Mr. Elegance this time. Swann managed to fight through the interference and score the pinfall victory, giving Mr. Elegance his first singles loss in TNA.
Mr. Elegance had been protected since his arrival, so Swann ending the streak gives him a notable win while handing the newest member of the Elegance Brand his first real setback.
