John Cena is just one win away from making history. With his Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes set for WrestleMania 41, Cena has the chance to break Ric Flair’s legendary record and become a 17-time world champion.
But Flair isn’t planning to let that happen without a fight. Taking to Twitter, the 16-time world champion made it very clear that Cena isn’t going to surpass him so easily.
“@JohnCena will have to go through me to get to 17! Just saying! WOOOOO!” Flair wrote, throwing down the gauntlet in vintage Nature Boy fashion.
And if that wasn’t enough, Flair has already joked about taking drastic measures to keep Cena from breaking the record, even going as far as saying he’d “take the day off blood thinners” to stop it from happening.
Cena has yet to respond, but with WrestleMania around the corner, the possibility of a showdown between the two legends isn’t out of the question. Flair might not be stepping into the ring, but he’s making sure the world knows he’s not ready to hand over the title of “Greatest of All Time” just yet.
