Raja Jackson’s vicious attack on Syko Stu at a KnokX Pro event remains a major topic of discussion, as even Ric Flair has now weighed in on the incident and thinks there’s a lot we don’t know about the incident.
While speaking to The Escapist, Ric Flair talked about Raja Jackson’s attack on Skyo Stu. He said he is close to Rampage Jackson and tried to call him, but Rampage didn’t answer.
Flair explained that wrestlers sometimes give each other a “receipt” to even things out, but this incident went too far. Flair made it clear he was not defending the incident, but pointed out that without being there, people likely don’t know the full story or important details.
Flair also mentioned that in his own career, he never lost his temper in the ring. Sometimes he had to hit back, like with Vader when things got too rough, but one punch was usually enough to calm things down.
“I’m very close to Rampage and I tried calling him, but obviously he wasn’t taking calls. A receipt here or there keeps everybody straight. But not to that extent. I’m not defending the actions by any means, but you never know the extent of what happened if you were not there. We’re probably missing several key components to what happened. I’ve never lost my cool in the ring. I’ve had to punch some guys back like Vader, just because he was always trying to rough me up. One punch and then everybody calms down, smooth it over.”
This comes after Rampage Jackson himself admitted that his son Raja Jackson deserves punishment for his actions as he isn’t above the law and he felt Stu didn’t deserve what happened to him.
Ric Flair’s comments show that the situation is not simple and that wrestling has behind-the-scenes details fans don’t always know about. With Rampage Jackson and others also speaking out, it’s clear the effects of this incident are not finished yet. So we’ll have to see if there’s more to the story than initially thought.
