Ric Flair is going straight at WWE — calling out the company for blocking his involvement with Roots of Fight and trying to damage his legacy.

The WWE Hall of Famer took to Twitter on April 7, 2026 after finding out he’s no longer allowed to be associated with Roots of Fight, and his response quickly turned into a full-on blast aimed straight at the company. Flair says WWE cut him off from the project—and he’s now publicly calling them out over it.

Flair kicked things off by explaining how he found out and immediately questioning the decision, while reminding everyone just how much he’s accomplished under the WWE banner.

“I Woke Up This Morning To Find Out That I’m No Longer Allowed To Be With @rootsoffight Per @WWE. Let Me Think- I’m The Only Wrestler To Ever Be On 30 For 30 & Ranked In The Top 25 Of All Time, An Emmy Nominated Documentary-Courtesy Of The WWE, Which I Should Have Won But I Lost To A Team Not An Individual.”

He didn’t stop there. Flair then shifted into his championship legacy and his history with Vince McMahon, bringing up past financial dealings to make the point that he’s always done right by the company—even when he didn’t have to.

“21 World Championships, But I Always Played By Your Rules And Kept It At 16. Paid Vince McMahon Back 800k When He Said He Would Forgive It. I Honored It.”

Next, Flair made it clear he’s not hurting financially, listing multiple income streams and even shouting out AEW President Tony Khan—making it obvious he has options outside WWE.

“Fortunately, I Still Make 1 Million Dollars From The GREAT Ryan Fiterman @FitermanSports. 500k From Ric Flair Drip. And Thank God For @TonyKhan.”

But then the tone shifted from frustration to something much more personal. Flair accused WWE of trying to damage his legacy, despite everything he’s done for the business.

“What More Of My Legacy Do You Want To Destroy WWE? You All Grew Up Loving Me And I Set The Bar. Now You Are Trying To Kill Me And Diminish My Legacy. Thank You, But It Ain’t Happening. Nice Try. LFG!”

That last part says everything. This isn’t just a disagreement—it’s Flair feeling like his legacy is being messed with, and he’s putting WWE on blast for it. This changes the situation completely. What could’ve been a quiet business decision is now out in the open—and it’s coming directly from one of the biggest names in wrestling history.

Do you think Ric Flair is justified in calling out WWE like this, or is there more to the story we’re not seeing? Drop your thoughts below and let us know.
