Rhea Ripley’s status for WWE Night of Champions is looking a lot more questionable after a noticeable change to the event’s promotional material.
WWE first dropped the Night of Champions 2026 poster on June 8, and Ripley was right there with Cody Rhodes, Liv Morgan, and Trick Williams. She was clearly being pushed as one of the big faces of the show.
Then June 16 rolled around, and suddenly, Rhea was gone. WWE updated the poster and replaced Ripley with Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton. That kind of switch is hard to ignore, especially when WWE already announced Ripley is being evaluated for a knee injury.

The timing makes it even more interesting because WrestleVotes recently reported that WWE is still waiting to find out how long Ripley could be out and whether she might even miss the SummerSlam Premium Live Event.
“They did announce Friday night she sustained an injury. From what we’re told, they’re still waiting to figure out how long this will be and if she will miss SummerSlam.”
That creates a major headache for WWE. Ripley is not just another name on the roster. She is one of the biggest stars in the women’s division and the WWE Women’s Champion, and if she can’t go, creative may have to start moving pieces around fast. WrestleVotes also noted that Charlotte Flair vs. Jade Cargill had been penciled in at one point, but that match could be changed if WWE needs to build a title match without Ripley.
“If she misses SummerSlam, a lot of plans change. We reported how at one point Jade Cargill vs. Charlotte Flair was penciled in. I believe that match gets changed if Rhea Ripley is affected by the injury.”
And that is where this poster change starts feeling like more than just a random graphic update. WWE may simply be playing it safe, but replacing Ripley with Tiffany Stratton definitely makes her status look shaky.
Ripley last wrestled at WWE Clash in Italy, where she retained her title against Jade Cargill. She also worked a few live events on WWE’s European tour before SmackDown revealed she was being evaluated for the knee issue.
Bottom line, WWE has not officially ruled Rhea Ripley out of anything yet. But when a top champion disappears from a major event poster days after an injury announcement, people are going to assume something is up.
What do you think about WWE replacing Rhea Ripley on the Night of Champions poster? Is this just WWE being careful, or is Ripley’s injury worse than expected? Drop your thoughts below and leave your feedback.
