Rey Mysterio isn’t done adding items to his WWE bucket list. The Hall of Famer has talked for years about wanting Dominik Mysterio to eventually retire him, but now that daughter Aalyah is training to wrestle, Rey has another family moment he wants to make happen before he calls it a career.

While speaking to The Sun, Mysterio revealed that Aalyah’s training has changed what he wants out of the final stretch of his career. Instead of only thinking about another match with Dominik, Rey now wants the chance to share a WWE ring with both of his children.

“I have my daughter training, I mean, that’s, that’s like a different thing for me. I would really love to be able to try and share the ring with both. Why not? I don’t think it’s ever been done in history, so to be able to share the ring with my daughter and my son, it would be something. It’s a personal hope or dream of mine.”

That would give WWE one hell of a Mysterio family moment, but Rey also isn’t ready to close the book on his rivalry with Dominik. Mysterio compared their story to movie franchises like Rocky and Terminator, where everyone thinks the story is finished until another chapter suddenly shows up.

“I think going back with Dom, you know, you’ve seen Rocky, Rocky 2, Rocky 3, and you know, maybe you thought that was the ending? And then all of a sudden you get another Rocky. Or the Terminator, whatever it is. Those movies that are legendary and are classics; to this day, you can enjoy. I think that can always happen with Dom and myself.”

Rey said the door between himself and Dominik is always there to be reopened. Their WWE feud may have already produced some major moments, but he doesn’t view what fans saw before as the definitive ending.

“Maybe we thought that was a finale or an ending, but the story is always there. It’s very accessible to knock back on that door and reopen that.”

Mysterio also admitted that his original plan was still for Dominik to be the one who eventually ended his career. The problem was that Dominik developed much faster than Rey expected once he entered WWE.

“So, I mean, yeah, that was my original thought [Dom retiring him] from the moment my son stepped in. It just it happened so fast. His growth happened so fast that I didn’t think it was gonna come within 2-3 years after him breaking into the business. It’s crazy.”

Rey clearly isn’t shutting the door on one more major chapter with Dominik, but Aalyah’s wrestling training has now opened up an entirely different possibility. If WWE can somehow get all three Mysterios into the same ring before Rey retires, he could walk away with a family moment nobody saw coming when Dominik first stepped into the business.
