Rey Fenix’s situation in AEW has sparked a lot of debate, with many criticizing Tony Khan for keeping him under contract for no reason whatsoever. While Fenix’s status in AEW continues to be a topic of controversy, it appears AEW has removed his merchandise from their official shop.

If one visits Rey Fenix’s merchandise page on the ShopAEW.com website, one will find that it has been completely removed. Fans who visited this page were redirected to a 404 error. In fact, even searching for Rey Fenix’s name on the website also shows no results, leading many to believe that Fenix might just be given his release soon.

This development comes after Rey Fenix made headlines last year after the former AEW Tag Team Champion seemingly called out AEW for “inhumane treatment” and a lack of support for his medical needs.

It was also reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Rey Fenix was exploring ways to get fired by AEW, as Dave Meltzer stated, “I think right now Fenix is looking at being fired,” adding that WWE and AEW contracts have similar clauses allowing extensions for missed time.

Rey Fenix’s situation is drawing a lot of attention right now. Since his brother Penta made a successful debut on the January 13th edition of RAW against Chad Gable, fans are hopeful Fenix will join him there soon. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see whether Fenix will end up making his way to WWE sooner rather than later.
