Jon Moxley has been one of AEW’s biggest stars since the company started in 2019, as his iconic debut during Double or Nothing 2019 truly changed the course of wrestling. However, it appears that Renee Paquette wasn’t allowed to go to Vegas for her husband’s debut.

While speaking on Meal And a Match, Renee Paquette talked about the AEW Double or Nothing 2019 pay-per-view. Paquette revealed that she wasn’t allowed to attend Jon Moxley’s AEW debut at Double or Nothing 2019.

Paquette recalled how exciting the moment was, describing the crowd’s reaction when Moxley appeared. At the time, she and Moxley were living in Las Vegas, just a short distance from the event, but she was not allowed to go.

“On a personal note, this was the night that Jon debuted, and oh, wow. Good God almighty, the roof just came off for Jon Moxley. We were living in Vegas at the time, so I was just down the road, but I couldn’t go.”

Mercedes Moné responded by asking if Paquette had been with WWE at the time, saying, “You weren’t there? You weren’t on the same team, right? [WWE] For a little bit?” To this, Paquette confirmed that to be the case and that she was watching from home, saying, “Yes, I was watching from home.”

Renee Paquette eventually made her way to AEW back in October 2022 and she has been a staple of the company since then, and working with her husband whenever possible. While it’s a shame she wasn’t allowed to attend her husband’s AEW debut, fans understand why it was that way.
