Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Bobby Lashley’s deal with Impact Wrestling was originally set to expire in May of 2019. Lashley, who was making decent money, asked to be released from his contract early and the company obliged with the request.

The reason he asked to be released earlier is because he feels he can get a good deal elsewhere, whither it be WWE or New Japan and he was willing to forego the last three months of his contract.
