Alexa Bliss and Randy Orton both officially returned to the ring at WWE’s August 13 live event, giving the show two major comeback matches in the same night.

Bliss teamed with Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton to defeat Fatal Influence’s Lainey Reid, Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley. Bliss was still sporting a wrap around her injured arm, but she was cleared to compete and made it through her first match in more than a month.

Her last match came on the July 10 episode of WWE SmackDown before an arm injury from Jade Cargill forced her out of action. Bliss had already returned to television last Friday, helping Charlotte against Cargill and welcoming Tatum Paxley to the brand, but August 13 marked her actual return to the ring.

Randy Orton also ended a much longer stretch without a match when he faced Cody Rhodes in a street fight in the main event. Orton had not wrestled since WrestleMania 42, where he lost to Rhodes. He resurfaced at WWE SummerSlam and made his presence felt immediately by costing Rhodes the Undisputed WWE Championship, setting the stage for their issues to continue That made the August 13 street fight Orton’s first match since WrestleMania and put him right back across the ring from the man he targeted upon his return.

With Bliss working again despite the arm still being wrapped and Orton finally stepping back into the ring after months away, WWE’s August 13 live event ended up featuring two significant in-ring returns.
