Raja Jackson is no longer behind bars. After serving the jail portion of his sentence in the Syko Stu assault case, the son of MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has now been released, bringing another major chapter in the case to a close.
According to PWInsider, Jackson was released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on September 29, 2026. Jackson had been sentenced to 90 days in jail after reaching a plea agreement over the August 2025 KNOKX Pro Wrestling incident, where he entered the ring and legitimately attacked independent wrestler Stewart Smith, better known as Syko Stu, continuing to punch him after Smith had already been knocked unconscious.
As part of the plea deal, the 26-year-old pleaded no contest to one felony count of battery with serious bodily injury and admitted to personal infliction of great bodily injury and engaging in violent conduct. He was also ordered to pay Smith $81,703.38 in restitution and serve two years of probation.
The incident actually started before the show. Footage from Jackson’s KICK livestream showed Smith, who appeared to be in character, hitting Jackson and crushing a beer can over his head. While Jackson didn’t react like it was part of the show, the two were later filmed apologizing to each other and shaking hands, making it seem like the issue had been settled.
That changed once the event got underway. Jackson was sitting in the front row before suddenly jumping into the ring during Smith’s match. He grabbed Smith from behind, threw him to the mat, and unloaded around 20 to 21 legitimate punches, with most of them connecting before wrestlers and security were finally able to drag him off. Even after others entered the ring, Jackson continued throwing punches before eventually being restrained.
Smith was unconscious when he was taken to a nearby hospital, and there were genuine fears he might not survive the night. He ultimately recovered but suffered multiple serious injuries and later announced his retirement from professional wrestling. He was also scheduled to speak during Tuesday’s court hearing.
Investigators also pointed to Jackson’s own KICK livestream before the attack, where he reportedly said promoters had told him to hit the ring and attack Smith, adding that he planned to hit him for real as many times as he could before someone pulled him away.
Following the incident, KICK permanently banned Jackson from the platform. Video recorded afterwards showed Jackson outside the venue ranting that people were “always playing” with him while fellow wrestlers tried to calm him down. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson later claimed the situation started as a wrestling angle that went wrong.
Now that Jackson has been released, the jail portion of the case is over. He still has to complete two years of probation and pay more than $81,000 in restitution, while Smith continues living with the aftermath of one of the most shocking legitimate assaults ever seen at a wrestling event.
