Queen Aminata impressed fans a lot over the past couple of years, which is why she inked a deal back in 2024. However, it hasn’t been an easy road for her as she has now admitted she’s frustrated over being kept in the dark about AEW’s plans for her until the last minute.

While speaking on her vlog, Queen Aminata talked about her time in AEW and said she usually finds out what she’s doing while sitting in the makeup chair during the show. One time, she was getting her makeup done and someone told her she had a segment and a promo, and that’s how she learned about her role for the night.

To be prepared, Queen Aminata always goes to get her makeup done early. She admitted that she doesn’t want to feel rushed and tries to stay ready, because that’s the one thing she can control.

Queen Aminata said it can be frustrating and nerve-wracking at times. She wants to do a good job, but there are a lot of things she can’t control, which makes it difficult.

“You know what, I honestly feel like every time I’m in the makeup chair, that’s when I find out if I’m doing something or not. So, I was just sitting there getting my makeup done and they told me, ‘Hey, you have a segment and you have a promo.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, okay. Well, now I know what I’m doing.’

But you know what I do every week? I go do my makeup as early as possible because, again, I don’t want to rush myself. I just want to stay ready. That’s the only way I can control what I can control.

Is it frustrating sometimes? Yes. Is it nerve-wracking? Yes. You have so many feelings going through your mind because you want to do so good at your job, but at the same time, you don’t have control over so many things.”

Regardless, Queen Aminata is set to square off against Thekla in singles competition during AEW Summer Blockbuster this week, so we’ll have to see whether this will lead to a long-running program for Aminata.
