The January 27 episode of NXT continued their build toward the February 3 episode. A six-man ladder match will determine the next NXT Champion, and we need to know who is in that match.

Ricky Saints, Shiloh Hill, and Sean Legacy have already qualified for the match. This week’s episode saw a couple of new names added to fill out the field.

Joe Hendry was supposed to start out this week’s show, but he was jumped backstage. So, the match was postponed. Jackson Drake said he would get the win in his match, but Ava said that they are putting the match off instead.

Then it was announced that Joe Hendry was taken to a hospital. Jackson Drake was then put in the ladder match, but she said if Joe Hendry is cleared, then he will also be in the ladder match. So, this could be a seven-man ladder match next week.

Myles Borne and Dion Lennox had another qualifying match. Prior to the contest, NXT North American Champion Adam Page talked a lot of trash to Myles as he tried to shake his confidence. In the end, Dion Lennox won the match to qualify.

In the third match, Keanu Carver took on Andre Chase in singles action. In the end, Carver won the match. This marked a very strong debut for the man who was recently brought up to NXT from the EVOLVE roster.

This ladder match is needed because there is no champion. Oba Femi left his NXT Title in the middle of the ring at New Year’s Evil as he vacated it for a main roster jump. Now, Oba is slated for a Royal Rumble debut.
