Yes. I seriously doubt that Asuka is winning at Money in the Bank. She definitely will get her hands on the Smackdown Women’s Championship; it just won’t happen at Money in the Bank. Carmella’s reign just started, and I feel that to end it right now would just be such a waste of time. Sure, Carmella isn’t exactly a great wrestler, but she’s doing fine promo-wise, and her character work is top-notch. I see no reason to extend the feud a little bit past Money in the Bank.
I know people would probably riot and murder several elderly people should Carmella beat Asuka clean as a doctor’s hands, but she doesn’t have to win clean. She’s a heel. And there are a lot of people who have gots beef with Asuka. Perhaps the IIconics run interference and make sure Asuka loses. Maybe Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville will choose to make a statement to former-best-friend-now-bitter-enemy Paige. Heck, maybe Charlotte will interfere just for the giggles.
Point is, Carmella’s retaining.
