Potential Twist Endings at Hell in a Cell

We’re only a week and a half away from Hell in a Cell, and while everything seems to be shaping up, there’s not really much to expect. Everything’s been pretty cut-and-dried. There’s no real twist to anything. But what if there was?

While I’m not advocating for the event to have more twists and turns than a pack of curly fries, something unexpected would be nice (but if Jinder retains, I will kneel on rock salt and beg God for forgiveness). What are some potential swerves that we need to look out for?

Rusev Beats Randy Orton

First off, let me say this: I think Rusev and Randy Orton are going to have a very good match at Hell in a Cell. It’s just a gut feeling.

I know that deep in my heart, Randy Orton is probably going to win this match. He spent three months losing to Jinder Mahal, so he needs a rebound. Rusev is the perfect guy for that. He’s one of those guys who you can slot into almost any feud and make a face look good.

But imagine what a twist it would be if Rusev picked up the win in October. No one would see it coming, because we’re all conditioned to see Rusev lose. Despite the fact that he had an undefeated streak in 2014, we all expect him to eat the pin.

Orton will forever be over with the fans. Even if he doesn’t win, no one will complain if he enters the title picture again (especially if it’s against Shinsuke Nakamura or AJ Styles). But if Rusev were to win, that would certainly put him up a few notches on the totem pole. If he were to win, he could easily challenge for the WWE Championship and no one would bat an eye.

But I know Randy’s winning.
