Slick is finally home after suffering a heart attack and undergoing open-heart surgery earlier this month. The former WWE manager still has some recovering to do, but things are certainly looking much better than they did two weeks ago.

Steve Stasiak of Book Pro Wrestlers shared the news on Twitter on August 28 after mutual friend James Radford contacted him with a message directly from Slick.

“A DIRECT UPDATE FROM SLICK: HE IS HOME, RESTING AND RECOVERING. This update comes from Slick himself.”

That’s a big improvement from August 16, when Slick was recovering in the ICU following his heart attack and surgery. His recovery was described as slow at the time, but he has now improved enough to continue it from home.

“Following his heart attack and open-heart surgery, Slick is now home and continuing his recovery. What happened was serious, and the road ahead will require time and rest, but the most important news today is that he is home.”

Slick also wanted to thank everyone who supported him during the frightening situation. He has received plenty of prayers and well wishes from wrestling fans since news of his heart attack became public.

“Slick especially wanted to thank everyone who has prayed for him, sent well wishes or left words of encouragement. He is deeply grateful for the love that has been shown to him during an incredibly difficult time.”

He won’t be jumping back on the road just yet. Slick is unable to travel or make appearances for the immediate future while he focuses on getting stronger.

“While Slick concentrates on getting stronger, he will be unable to travel and make appearances for the immediate future.”

Stasiak also revealed that Slick plans to record a video from home for everyone who has been following his recovery. That will be shared through Book Pro Wrestlers once it arrives.

“Slick has also told us that he plans to record a video from home specifically for everyone here. He will be sending it directly to me, and as soon as it arrives, I will share it with all of you on Book Pro Wrestlers.”

Bottom line: Slick still has plenty of recovering to do and wrestling appearances will have to wait, but after a heart attack and open-heart surgery, being able to continue that recovery from home is certainly the news everyone was hoping to hear.
