Paige got a kick out of seeing one of her fans make it onto SmackDown this week—but it wasn’t the sign itself that caught her attention. It was the fact that the fan actually got to keep it.
After Friday Night SmackDown this week, a fan posted a video celebrating the moment WWE cameras picked up their Paige sign at ringside: “I feel seen! 👀 haha @Saraya.”
Paige took to Twitter and saw it, laughed, and immediately went back to one of the stranger WWE stories from last year.
“Now you get to bring your signs with zero confiscation! Haha.”
If you’ve forgotten why that’s funny, Paige certainly hasn’t. Last year, fans repeatedly claimed security was taking away “Paige Come Home” signs before WWE shows. The complaints snowballed online, with supporters insisting the signs were disappearing before they ever had a chance to make television. The whole thing became such a talking point that when one finally did make it onto SmackDown, Paige thanked fans for sticking with her anyway.
Fast forward to this weekend, and nobody was talking about confiscated signs anymore. WWE not only left the sign alone—it put it on television. That’s what made Paige’s response land.
Whether it was just a joke or a cheeky reminder of last year’s drama, one thing’s for sure: Paige hasn’t forgotten the whole sign confiscation drama—and judging by her response, she doesn’t expect fans to forget it either.
