WWE isn’t wasting any time getting physical on the October 6, 2026 episode of NXT. Just hours before the show, WWE announced that Zilla Fatu vs. Lexis King will officially kick off tonight’s broadcast on The CW.
The match had already been confirmed for the card after weeks of tension between the two, but WWE has now revealed that Fatu and King will be the first competitors through the curtain. WWE NXT announced the opening match on social media, writing:
“🚨🚨🚨 @Zillafatu vs. @LexisKingWWE will KICK OFF #WWENXT TONIGHT!”
Fatu vs. King is only one piece of a loaded show. The October 6 episode will also feature a 20-woman Battle Royal to determine the next challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship, along with two first-round matches in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
Naraku vs. Shiloh Hill is also scheduled for the show, while Sean Legacy & Dorian Van Dux face the Tokyo Bad Boys and Shido Ash & Viktor Zanov take on Hank & Tank in tournament action. WWE clearly wants to start the night with some heat, and putting Zilla Fatu and Lexis King in the opening slot gives them the chance to set the tone immediately.
