WWE just revealed exactly how Money in the Bank is getting started — and they’re not easing fans into the show.
During the October 9, 2026 episode of WWE SmackDown, WWE announced that Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight for the World Heavyweight Championship will officially open Money in the Bank. That means one of the biggest matches on the entire card is going on first, with WWE putting Reigns and Knight front and center the second the Premium Live Event gets underway.
The announcement came one night before Money in the Bank, with WWE confirming on SmackDown that the World Heavyweight Championship showdown will “start the show.”
WWE currently has five matches confirmed for Money in the Bank:
- World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. LA Knight
- Women’s World Championship Triple Threat: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan
- Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: CM Punk vs. Kevin Owens vs. Trick Williams vs. Penta vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Bron Breakker
- Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Jacy Jayne vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Lash Legend vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Sol Ruca vs. Lola Vice
