Nikki Bella is set to return to WWE television on the June 9, 2025 episode of RAW—but not everyone is celebrating the news.

Former WWE Superstar Odyssey Jones took to Twitter to react to Nikki’s comeback, pointing to what he sees as a double standard in how WWE handles talent involved in domestic dispute controversies. Jones, who was released from WWE after facing his own set of allegations, didn’t hold back.

“So it’s not the situation it’s just the person involved. NOTED!” he wrote in a post that quickly caught fire online.

Jones was released after a domestic violence allegation surfaced, despite no legal charges being filed. He has since spoken out about the situation, expressing frustration with how the company handled the matter and how he was left in the dark while trying to clear his name.

Nikki Bella, meanwhile, recently addressed her situation on The Nikki & Brie Show, saying she has been wrongly portrayed online in the aftermath of her divorce from Artem Chigvintsev.

“Where I have a hard time—and I was like, ‘I’m going to kill this sht’—is just how everyone’s making it like I’m guilty. I lost. I was a liar,”* Nikki said. “I haven’t lied about one thing, and I’m going to just make that clear. I have not lied about one thing.”

Artem was arrested in Napa, California, on a felony domestic battery charge. As of now, it is unclear if Nikki was directly involved in the incident, though she posted an Instagram Story from Napa just a day before the arrest.

This situation echoes an earlier WWE controversy from 2022, when Nash Carter was fired following domestic abuse allegations made by his partner. Although the claims were never proven, WWE ultimately released Carter. Carter had been one-half of the NXT Tag Team Champions with Wes Lee at the time.

The optics of Nikki’s return have drawn criticism, especially from someone like Jones, who saw his own WWE run end under somewhat similar, though still legally unresolved, circumstances.

As WWE gears up for a huge RAW episode with Nikki Bella’s return, Jey Uso defending the World Heavyweight Title, and John Cena continuing his farewell tour, some fans and former talent are questioning the company’s standards when it comes to accountability.
