Bronson Reed stepping on Oba Femi during WWE RAW created a backstage headache WWE apparently never planned for. Femi immediately knocked Reed’s leg off his back, and that reaction was not scripted.
The moment happened during the September 7, 2026 episode of WWE RAW, when The Vision jumped Femi during a chaotic beatdown. Reed eventually put his foot on Femi’s back while Oba was down, but Femi wasn’t interested in staying there for the visual and quickly swatted Reed’s leg away.
Fightful Select has now confirmed through WWE sources that Femi knocking Reed’s leg off him was not part of the segment. There is still some mystery on the other side of it, because the sources they spoke with didn’t know whether Reed stepping on Femi was actually scripted in the first place.

That helps explain why such a small moment turned into a much bigger conversation backstage. It was already noted that the interaction became a hot topic inside WWE, with people noticing exactly what Femi did. Some people backstage apparently didn’t like the fact that he knocked Reed’s foot away, especially since that reaction was not part of the plan.
The rest of the segment was much more straightforward. Femi had come out to help Otis and Akira Tozawa before The Vision eventually overwhelmed him. Bron Breakker drilled him with multiple Spears, while Reed followed with several Tsunamis to leave Femi laid out. The part people kept talking about, though, happened before all of that destruction finished. Reed stepped on Femi. Femi knocked his leg away. WWE didn’t script Femi doing it.
There is still no word that Femi is facing any punishment over the moment, but something that lasted only a second on television clearly lasted much longer in conversations backstage. Ringside News will continue to provide updates as they become available.
