That brief moment between Oba Femi and Bronson Reed on WWE RAW didn’t just get fans talking. It also sparked discussion backstage, and some people inside WWE apparently weren’t happy with what happened.
During the September 7, 2026 episode of WWE RAW, The Vision overwhelmed Femi during a chaotic beatdown. At one point, Reed placed his foot on Femi’s back while Oba was down, and Femi immediately brushed it away.
According to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, there was “definitely backstage chatter” among WWE personnel after the segment, specifically over Femi knocking Reed’s foot off his back. The key detail is that the moment was not written into the segment. That apparently caught some people backstage off guard. WrestleVotes asked around afterward and was told that people inside WWE noticed what happened, and some of them did not like it.
The interaction came during a brutal attack from The Vision after Femi arrived to help Otis and Akira Tozawa. Femi initially fought off Austin Theory, Bron Breakker and Reed before the numbers finally caught up with him. Breakker drilled Femi with multiple Spears, while Reed followed with several Tsunamis to leave Oba laid out in the ring.
What looked like a quick physical reaction during the beatdown ended up getting more attention backstage than fans may have realized. There’s no indication at this point that Femi is facing any punishment or formal heat, but the unscripted moment was noticed, and it clearly rubbed some people the wrong way.
Now the question is whether WWE simply moves on from it or whether the backstage reaction ends up having any impact on Femi going forward.
Do you think Oba Femi brushing Bronson Reed’s foot away was a big deal, or was it just a split-second reaction during a physical segment? Leave your thoughts and feedback in the comments.
