Miranda Alize and Nixon Newell just turned the Fourth of July into a much bigger celebration.
Alize took to Instagram on July 4 and revealed that she and Newell are now engaged. She kept the announcement simple, but the photo did all the talking, as she showed off her engagement ring and made it official for everyone watching: “Happy 4th of July 🎇 Im engaged 💍”
That was enough to set off plenty of happy reactions from fans, especially since Alize and Newell have been together for quite a while and have already been through some major ups and downs as a couple. Their relationship has played out alongside their wrestling careers, and fans have seen them stick together through a lot, including their infamous AEW Collision walkout last year.
The timing also makes this feel even more meaningful for Newell. She previously revealed that she is likely wrapping up her in-ring career in December 2026, after saying she only had one final year left in wrestling. Back in November 2025, Newell explained during a Twitch stream with Alize that she was entering the last stretch of her career and wanted to enjoy the ride.
“I told you guys at the beginning of the year, this is my last two years in wrestling. We’re already a year gone. So I want to have fun this last year.”
Newell also made it clear that wrestling is no longer the center of everything for her. She said she is not doing it for money or status anymore, but because she still enjoys it while working toward other dreams.
“I don’t do wrestling for money. I do it because I enjoy it and it’s fun. I have other dreams in my life that I’m working on to achieve. Wrestling is just in the background.”
Then, during an Instagram Story Q&A, Nixon Newell gave fans a clearer idea of when her final match could happen. When asked directly, she said it would likely be in December: “More than likely in December.”
So while Newell may be heading toward the final months of her wrestling career, her personal life is clearly entering a huge new chapter. Between a possible December farewell match and now an engagement to Alize, 2026 is shaping up to be a life-changing year for both of them.
