The WWE x AAA Worlds Collide show had a lot of things going for it and it’s safe to say fans all over the world loved it. Now it appears that fans weren’t the only ones who were happy with the event as Nick Khan felt it was a grand slam.

While speaking on the Keepin’ it 100 podcast, Konnan talked about how successful the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event was. He said WWE had done YouTube shows before, but this one got the most views.

At first, no one was sure if fans would even watch the event at all. Konnan admitted that there was a chance the matches might not be good or that the show just wouldn’t do well.

However, the event ended up being a huge hit. It became the number one trending topic and pulled in over 32 million views across WWE’s social media platforms within just the first 24 hours.

“They’ve had YouTube shows on before—sure—but this was the most viewed show. We didn’t know if people were going to watch it or not. Could’ve been a flop, could’ve had bad matches—a lot of things could’ve gone wrong.

Bro, it ended up being the number one trending topic, okay? And across all their social media platforms—and I’m sure it’s even more now—they had 32 million views in just the first 24 hours. So, yeah, it was a success to them.”

Konnan also mentioned that when he talked to WWE President Nick Khan about it, Khan was extremely pleased with the outcome, calling it more than just a success. The message was clear: WWE leadership was really happy with how the show turned out.

“I spoke to him briefly—Nick Khan, yes, I’m a Nick Khan guy. I said, ‘I think we hit a home run,’ and he said, ‘No, we hit a grand slam.’ So there’s that—that’s the President. They’re happy.”

That’s not all as Konnan also shut down claims that the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide was finalized at the last moment, as he made it clear he knew the card well in advance. Nevertheless, it’s clear Nick Khan and WWE in general were very happy with how the show turned out, so we’ll have to see when their next joint event will take place.
