Natalya spent years pushing for more women to get opportunities at WrestleMania, and she recently revealed several ideas she personally pitched to Vince McMahon that never ended up happening.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Nattie explained that whenever she pitches storylines or match concepts in WWE, she tries to make sure as many women as possible are included.

“One thing, when I pitch ideas and it really helps, be inclusive. I make sure lots of women are included.”

Chelsea Green, who was also part of the interview, backed that up immediately and explained that Nattie has consistently fought behind the scenes to get more women featured on WrestleMania cards.

“Nattie is the queen of that. Every WrestleMania, Nattie is the number one pitcher for a women’s battle royal or multi-women tag match. Every year.”

Natalya then revealed some of the specific ideas she repeatedly brought directly to Vince McMahon over the years, including a women’s gauntlet match spread across both nights of WrestleMania.

“Three years in a row, I went to Vince and said, ‘I want to do a women’s gauntlet match. The winner of the gauntlet match gets to face the tag team champions the next night.’”

She also pushed for a multi-team tag title match involving four women’s teams fighting for the championships on the biggest show of the year.

“I want to do a women’s fatal four-way where it’s four tag teams fighting for the title. I just want to get more women on the show all the time.”

Although WWE never moved forward with the gauntlet match concept Natalya pitched, the company has increasingly added more multi-women tag team matches and showcase-style bouts to WrestleMania over the years.

Natalya has long been viewed as one of WWE’s locker room leaders and strongest advocates for the women’s division, and her latest comments show just how much effort she put into trying to create more spots for female talent at WrestleMania.
