Naomi is getting honest about the evolution of women’s wrestling—and how stars like Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch are shifting the mindset for what’s possible after motherhood.
In her chat with Stephanie McMahon on “What’s Your Story?”, WWE Superstar reflected on how different the industry looks now compared to when she started nearly two decades ago.
The conversation took a personal turn after she and husband Jimmy Uso joked about being in their “transition years.” From there, Naomi opened up about how much women like Trish and Becky have changed her perspective on career timelines and motherhood.
“She inspires me, especially now, Becky. But see the women, I always felt like I had this time crunch on me, but now the women are showing, and I really feel like if I wanted to stop and go have a baby, we can do it. They’re doing it so gracefully. Beautifully. And it is hard. It’s not easy. I see the lows, but they get through it, and they’re better for it, and they’re inspiring so many women. And I think that’s just incredible, because 16 years ago, you didn’t feel like you could do that.”
Naomi’s comments shine a light on a major shift in wrestling culture—one where female performers no longer have to choose between motherhood and success. She credited today’s women for proving that you can step away, grow a family, and still return stronger than ever. Her reflection adds to the ongoing conversation about women in sports entertainment—and how far things have come.
