Mr. Iguana’s definitely the biggest star coming out of the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event. Considering the fact he’s already a huge fan-favorite, it comes as no surprise that he is now finalizing a deal with WWE.
According to Fightful Select, Mr. Iguana is finalizing a deal with WWE. After impressing at Worlds Collide, sources stated that he would be appearing in NXT and that appearance already happened this past week. WWE is now working on a deal that would include more appearances in the future.
“Mr. Iguana is finalizing a deal with WWE. The viral sensation made an incredible impression at Worlds Collide, and Fightful was immediately told he’d me making an NXT appearance, which happened this past week. We’re also told he and WWE are finalizing a deal with the company that sees him make future appearances.”
It was noted that there was some confusion recently after Mr. Iguana claimed in an interview that he was headed straight to the main roster and would skip NXT. The video was later edited, and while some said he never made those comments, it was confirmed that he did. Fightful then stated that they hadn’t heard anything on whether Mr. Iguana had heat in the company for the comments.
“There was some confusion as to Iguana’s immediate status as he did an interview claiming he was going to the main roster. The interview was later edited and there were claims he didn’t say it, but he did. We’ve not heard anything on whether or not he had heat in the company for the comments.”
This comes after Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Mr. Iguana got backstage heat for saying he would skip NXT and go straight to WWE’s main roster. Regardless, since he’s finalizing a deal with WWE, it’s clear the company is high on him and so fans can expect to see him more often on WWE programming soon enough.
