Montez Ford apparently has Roman Reigns on his list—and he may have just taken his shot outside a WWE ring. One track from Ford’s new album includes a pretty direct “Head of the Table” jab while bringing The Rock into it too.
Ford released his new nine-track album After the Tide on August 17, but one particular line from the track Iced Out is likely to get wrestling fans paying attention for reasons that have nothing to do with his music career. During the song, Ford seemingly turns his attention toward Roman Reigns.
“Next on my list… but The Rock said, ‘What’d the dude say?’ Head of the Table? You’re more or less than a toupee.”
Ford doesn’t actually name Reigns, but he doesn’t really need to. “Head of the Table” has been Roman’s signature moniker for years, with Ford using it as the setup for the toupee punchline.
Bringing The Rock into the same bar only makes it hit harder given Rock and Roman’s history within the Bloodline. It’s a pretty unexpected wrestling reference buried inside an album Ford has otherwise presented as another step in his music career.
Bottom line: Ford has been making music outside WWE for years, but taking an apparent swing at Roman Reigns while name-dropping The Rock is certainly one way to make Iced Out stand out from the rest of his new album.
Was Montez Ford simply having fun with the line, or would you actually want to see Ford go after Roman Reigns on WWE television? Let us know in the comments below.
