Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling just took a double hit, with one departure now forcing a change to the upcoming CMLL Women’s Grand Prix.
During the latest episode of CMLL Informa, MLP owner Scott D’Amore appeared and revealed that the company has parted ways with one of its talents while also confirming that the wrestler is out of the Grand Prix lineup. D’Amore announced that Alice Crowley will be stepping into the CMLL Women’s Grand Prix spot that had originally belonged to Taylor Rising. He also confirmed that Rising and Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling are no longer working together.
That means this wasn’t just a random card shuffle. Rising is out of the CMLL Women’s Grand Prix and out of MLP entirely, making this a two-part exit with immediate consequences.
There’s still no detailed explanation for what happened behind the scenes. D’Amore did not get into the reason for the split, and there’s no word yet on whether the decision was mutual or if something changed suddenly between both sides. What is clear is that the breakup moved fast enough to affect outside plans. Crowley is now getting the international opportunity, while Rising’s next move is completely up in the air.
The timing makes the situation stand out even more because this wasn’t just an internal roster move. MLP had to alter a CMLL booking on the fly, which shows the split had real consequences beyond the company’s own shows.
For now, the headline is simple: MLP and Rising are done, and her CMLL Women’s Grand Prix spot is gone with it. If more details come out about why the relationship ended, that could turn this into a much bigger story.
