MJF apparently wasn’t impressed with AEW’s latest pay-per-view, and he made sure everyone knew it. Following AEW WrestleDream on October 17, 2026, Maxwell Jacob Friedman took to social media to rip into AEW World Champion Will Ospreay, take a shot at new signing Ilja Dragunov and even throw Chris Jericho into the mix.
MJF posted what he called his “Wrestledream synopsis” on Twitter, and he didn’t have much positive to say about the show. His biggest target was Ospreay, who successfully defended his AEW World Championship in the eight-man Clockwork Carnage Match. Rather than congratulate Ospreay for surviving seven challengers, MJF dismissed both the champion and his title while accusing him of cheating to win.
“Fake world champion defends fake world championship in match with opponents who are way better than him and cheats to win.”
Ospreay retained his championship after scoring the deciding fall against Adam Copeland with just seconds remaining in the match. He finished with three points, allowing him to walk away with the title despite being pinned and submitting earlier in the contest. MJF wasn’t finished there. He also took aim at Ilja Dragunov, who made his official AEW debut after weeks of mysterious vignettes featuring a man conducting an orchestra. MJF mocked both Dragunov and the presentation of his arrival.
“Russian/german loser debuts by pretending he’s a ‘composer’…cool.”
Dragunov was introduced by Renee Paquette during the pay-per-view, where he entered the ring before leaving without cutting a promo or getting physical. Tony Khan later confirmed that Dragunov was officially All Elite. Finally, MJF took a shot at Chris Jericho while referencing Nick Wayne’s victory over the veteran wrestler.
“Nick Wayne beat Jericho twice 🍾”
MJF didn’t offer any further explanation for his comments, but his message made it clear that he wasn’t interested in celebrating AEW’s latest pay-per-view. Whether he was taking legitimate shots at his fellow wrestlers or simply stirring up trouble, he managed to insult several major names in a single post.
For now, MJF has put Ospreay and Dragunov directly in his sights, and neither has responded to his latest comments. With Dragunov preparing for his AEW in-ring debut and Ospreay still holding the World Championship, there’s plenty of room for this social media trash talk to turn into something bigger.
