MJF already considers Adam Sandler family—and now he wants to make him a tag team partner at one of AEW’s biggest shows.

In a laid-back chat on Coffee Chats while promoting Happy Gilmore 2, the AEW star was asked about his experience working with Sandler on the film. He didn’t hold back in praising the comedy legend, even going so far as to crown Sandler his “new dad.”

“I fired my dad. That’s my new dad. I love Adam though. Adam is the man.”

As the conversation drifted into the idea of Sandler showing up in a wrestling ring, MJF lit up. When the host floated the idea of headlining Wembley Stadium with Sandler, MJF didn’t hesitate to lean in.

“Now we’re talking. Okay, now we’re talking. Cuz we’re going back to Wembley in 2026. So, I’m telling you right now, the Gilmore boys might show up and win the tag titles. Wouldn’t shock me and it shouldn’t shock you.”

The “Gilmore boys” is MJF’s tongue-in-cheek nickname for himself and Sandler, referencing their roles in the Happy Gilmore sequel—where MJF plays Sandler’s son. But this wasn’t just a throwaway line. MJF was clearly visualizing a crossover moment where entertainment and pro wrestling collide on the grandest AEW stage.

With AEW’s return to Wembley Stadium in 2026 already in the cards, the idea of Sandler walking down the ramp beside MJF in front of a packed house suddenly doesn’t sound all that far-fetched.
