MJF’s next Hollywood role has finally stepped out of the shadows. The first trailer for Violent Night 2 dropped on August 4, giving fans their first look at the AEW star in action—and he wastes no time making an impression as one of the film’s top villains.
The trailer throws MJF right into the middle of the chaos. In one memorable scene, he stuffs someone into an oven, prompting David Harbour’s Santa Claus to compare the victim to a gingerbread man. Later, MJF goes after Harbour with a massive steel mace before Kristen Bell jumps in and catches the weapon during the fight.
While Universal is still keeping details about MJF’s character under wraps, the trailer leaves little doubt that he’ll be one of the biggest obstacles standing in Santa’s way when the sequel arrives in theaters on December 4.
The trailer marks MJF’s first on-screen appearance since his casting was announced last year. Since then, the AEW World Champion has balanced filming with one of the busiest schedules in wrestling, bouncing between movie sets and major events for AEW and CMLL without taking extended time away from the ring.
With The Iron Claw and Happy Gilmore 2 already on his résumé, MJF now has his biggest look yet in Violent Night 2—and if the trailer is any indication, he’s going to cause plenty of problems for David Harbour’s Santa Claus.
