AEW World Champion MJF isn’t shy when it comes to ranking himself among wrestling’s all-time greats—and now he’s putting himself in rarefied promo company.
During a recent interview with WDW News, MJF addressed comparisons to legendary talkers Rowdy Roddy Piper and Ric Flair and claimed he’s already inspiring the next generation. When one of the hosts brought up Piper as the king of trash talk, MJF agreed without hesitation and explained what makes those comparisons stick:
“A lot of wrestling fans do say this to this day—they feel like I’m kind of a like a mixed bag between Piper and Flair.”
“The way I talk—it’s very Piperesque. And the way I present myself, people feel is very Flairesque.”
According to MJF, the proof is already out there—on TikTok, Instagram, and beyond. Young fans are mimicking his insults, style, and signature gear:
“There are little things I’m noticing little kids are doing to emulate me… They’re saying ‘bud,’ they’re rocking the Burberry scarf, they’re rocking the three-piece suit, they’re rocking the Dynamite Diamond Ring.”
MJF isn’t just cutting promos—he’s becoming the blueprint for what the modern heel looks and sounds like. Whether you love him or hate him, MJF sees himself walking in the footsteps of two legends—and he’s convinced he’s already leaving his own.
