Missy Hyatt is undergoing surgery today following the serious car accident she suffered earlier this year. Instead of asking fans to worry about her, the wrestling veteran spent the morning joking about her own obituary, the World Class curse and even the kind of memorial she’d want if things somehow went sideways.
Taking to Twitter ahead of the procedure, Hyatt immediately made it clear she wasn’t planning on becoming the day’s biggest wrestling headline.
“Today is surgery day for my car accident. Tell @davemeltzerWON to put my obituary bio on ice and keep writing Dory Funk Jr.’s bio. The World Class Wrestling curse is not getting me today.”
That wasn’t the only reason she planned on making it through surgery. Hyatt joked she’d only recently received her first wrestling action figure and wasn’t about to let that be the last one.
“I finally got a wrestling figure from @CollectMajor and I must live to see another figure in my lifetime.”
She then turned her attention to Dark Side of the Ring, revealing her episode has already been filmed and joking that the producers wouldn’t have time to go back and edit it anyway.
“My @DarkSideOfRing is already in the can and they have no time to reedit it.”
Even the possibility of a memorial wasn’t off limits. If anything were to happen, Hyatt made it clear she doesn’t want the usual wrestling tribute shows. She has something much more fitting in mind.
“I want no memorial shows if anything happens. But a MDK (Missy-Death-Kill) tournament of death would be cool.”
Back in June, Hyatt revealed she had been involved in a serious car accident and would eventually require surgery. At the time, she stressed the crash wasn’t her fault, confirmed she hadn’t been drinking and admitted one of her biggest worries was facing the recovery without anyone at home to help care for her afterwards.
