Matt Riddle walked into Boca Raton Championship Wrestling’s Summer Smash without a title and left with the biggest one in the company. Riddle captured the vacant BRCW Heavyweight Championship on August 16, 2026, at The Studio at Mizner Park in Boca Raton, Florida.
Riddle won the belt in a Fatal Four-Way against “Main Event Monster” Fulton, Matt Taven and Stallion Rogers. The championship had been vacant since August 5, giving Riddle the chance to step in and grab his first reign as BRCW Heavyweight Champion.
The title change was one of three on the show. Lacey Lane defeated Shayna Baszler to win the BRCW Women’s Championship, while Chris Farrow captured the Cha Cha Championship in a ladder match against Cha Cha Charlie, Sean Maluta, Lakay and Steve Person.
Elsewhere on the card, Gangrel and The Righteous defeated The Kings Court, Jonny Fairplay retained the Cruiserweight Championship against Rey Fury, Bull James and Oddyssey defeated Big Tito Lincoln and A.J. Francis, and Sons of Boca retained the BRCW Tag Team Championship against Ben Bishop and Kerry Morton.
Riddle’s win was the biggest move of the night, putting the former WWE star right at the top of BRCW after the company spent nearly two weeks without a heavyweight champion.
BRCW will return with Cruisin’ For A Bruisin’ IV on November 6, 2026, at the Pullman Hotel in Miami, Florida, and Riddle will head into that show as the man holding the company’s top prize.
