Masha Slamovich is back — and she didn’t exactly sneak through the side door.
Slamovich made her MLW debut during Fightland on Thursday night, immediately joining CONTRA before stepping up to answer Lady Frost’s open challenge. Then she handled business, picking up the win in her very first MLW match.
That’s a hell of a way to introduce yourself. The appearance marks Slamovich’s return to a major wrestling promotion after her TNA run came crashing to a halt last year. In September 2025, former partner AKIRA accused Slamovich of domestic violence after alleged text messages and photos surfaced.
The fallout hit fast. Slamovich had been scheduled to challenge for the TNA Knockouts Championship at Victory Road, but the match disappeared from the card as the controversy exploded. Ringside News covered how TNA replaced Slamovich’s planned Victory Road match with another segment just hours before the show.
TNA also went back and removed a Slamovich match from an episode of Impact that had already been taped. That was another pretty loud sign that the company was putting distance between itself and the former Knockouts Champion while everything played out.
By December, the writing was basically on the wall. Slamovich was removed from TNA’s official roster page, signaling that her run with the company was finished.
TNA later left the door cracked for the two sides to potentially revisit things down the road, but Slamovich clearly wasn’t waiting around for that conversation. She has now resurfaced in MLW, and the company didn’t treat her like somebody easing back into the wrestling world.
She joined CONTRA, walked straight into an open challenge and beat Lady Frost on night one. That’s not exactly dipping your toe back into the water. MLW threw Masha Slamovich right into the deep end, and now the real question is how far the company plans to go with her after giving her such a loud debut.
