Logan Paul and Jake Paul’s new fight competition series is officially looking for contestants, and the casting process comes with a pretty specific set of rules for anyone hoping to step into the show.
The unscripted series, titled “Fight Game,” will air on Hulu and ESPN and feature Logan and Jake coaching opposing teams of fighters. The casting call is seeking “elite” professional and amateur fighters with big personalities and experience across disciplines including MMA, boxing, wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai and karate.
Now, the official application has revealed who is actually eligible to compete. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and legal residents of the United States. They also cannot be employees of the producer, network or any company directly involved with the development, production or exhibition of the series.
The restrictions also extend to family members and people living in the applicant’s household. Anyone whose spouse, parents, children, siblings, step-relatives or household members have worked as an employee, officer or director for the producer or network within the past year may be disqualified, although short-term independent contractors and interns are excluded from that provision.
The application also states that contestants cannot have been convicted of a felony within the past 10 years unless that conviction has been expunged. There’s even a political restriction. Applicants cannot currently be candidates for public office, and anyone selected for the show must agree not to become a candidate until one year after the program initially airs.
Wheelhouse Studios LLC also makes it clear that meeting those requirements doesn’t automatically guarantee eligibility. The company reserves the right to reject applicants if their involvement could create a conflict of interest, impropriety or anything else that might affect the integrity or perception of the show.
The series itself will put Logan and Jake on opposite sides as coaches while contestants compete through exhibition fights, team-based challenges, survival tests and social strategy.
Jake enters the project with 14 professional boxing bouts and a 12-2 record, while Logan has competed in exhibition boxing matches and has also built a career in WWE, where he has held both the United States Championship and World Tag Team Championship.
There’s still no premiere date for “Fight Game,” but the casting process makes it clear producers are already putting the pieces together. With the Paul brothers coaching opposing teams and fighters being tested on much more than what happens inside a ring or cage, Hulu and ESPN appear to be going for something closer to a full-blown reality competition than a traditional fight tournament.
