LeBron James has not even settled into Philadelphia yet, and TNA is already trying to put a world title in his hands.
The company officially invited the new 76ers superstar to appear at the July 30 iMPACT! taping for Jeff Hardy’s championship match against Nic Nemeth. TNA wants LeBron at ringside inside the Liacouras Center and is asking him to serve as the official title holder before the match begins. The company tied the invite directly to Philadelphia’s sudden championship hopes after landing one of the biggest names in basketball. TNA then made the rest of the message very simple.
“As the Philadelphia 76ers now seriously talk titles, TNA Wrestling has a major World Championship match Thursday in Philadelphia—and TNA is officially inviting the new 76ers superstar, LeBron James, to be the official title holder for the Nic Nemeth vs. Jeff Hardy World Championship match at the Liacouras Center.”
“See you ringside, LeBron!”
There is no word yet on whether James plans to show up, but the timing could not be better. TNA is running two nights in Philadelphia on July 30 and July 31, and Hardy against Nemeth is one of the biggest matches on the card.
The July 30 episode of iMPACT! will air on AMC and AMC+ in the United States, Sportsnet 360 in Canada and TNA+ around the world.
TNA clearly wants a major Philadelphia moment, and putting LeBron next to Jeff Hardy and Nic Nemeth would do the job. Now it comes down to whether the new Sixers star wants to trade the basketball court for ringside.
