LA Knight Admits Concern Over Staying Relevant After CM Punk & Randy Orton’s WWE Return

LA Knight worked very hard to climb up the ranks in WWE as he is always aware of the fact his popularity could go away at a moment’s notice. In fact, Knight has now admitted that he feared he would fade into obscurity after Randy Orton and CM Punk’s WWE return.

While speaking to Metro, The Megastar admitted that he feared he would fade into the background after CM Punk and Randy Orton returned to WWE during the 2023 Survivor Series Premium Live Event.

“Randy comes back, CM Punk comes back. And I’m like, “Alright, well, now the perception is going to be, “I got defeated, now these guys are here, so now I fade”. And I think a lot of people [had] kind of taken that stance for a moment.”

Knight has spent decades working to reach this level and acknowledged that despite his confidence and charisma, he hasn’t always been sure of his place. Talking about his journey, Knight pointed out how unpredictable and competitive the wrestling business can be. Having spent years on the independent circuit and in various promotions, he has learned to always be on guard and knows that things can change at any moment.

“Man, I’d love to say yes, but sometimes yes, sometimes no,’ he confessed. ‘I think for years and years of being on the independents and different companies and whatnot, you just get used to kind of looking over your shoulder and just thinking, ‘Alright, at any point somebody’s gonna try and pull the carpet out from under me.‘

So, I mean, I’m always just kind of on edge in that certain way where it’s like, I got put in that position, and then I’m just like, “Alright, well, now what?”

It’s very clear that Knight remains determined to prove himself in WWE, fully aware that competition is hard and opportunities are never guaranteed. However, his strong connection with fans and ability to adapt have helped him stay relevant.

At the moment, LA Knight is focused on reclaiming the United States Championship from Shinsuke Nakamura. Therefore, we will have to wait and see if he can achieve his goal and become a champion again.
